“The biggest misconception is that stone stains. It can, certainly. But, usually the most common is etching of stone.”

Kayron Rosen

What’s the biggest misconception about natural stone, and when would you steer someone toward porcelain instead?

The biggest misconception is that stone stains. It can, certainly. But, usually the most common is etching of stone. If a person doesn’t want to see the patina and ever changing living surface of natural stone, then we talk about the porcelains.

What installation or grout mistakes do you see most often, and how can designers avoid them?

I think the one thing we see on occasion is an installer that is in over their head with handmade products. It is so important to hire a quality and talented installer.
